It's been an amazing 5 years since I moved to Laguna Beach from New York City.
In that short time there have been lots of changes in my practice. We have moved our office twice, began delivering babies at 2 new hospitals and I perform surgery at 3 new centers. My office on Pacific Coast Highway was recently purchased by Mission Hospital, which is part of the St. Joseph Health Systems. They have aggressively been improving the old South Coast Medical Center and have allowed it to continue to prosper and grow while continuing to service our wonderful coastal community.
My fantastic office staff, led by my office manager and wife Mara, continues to keep my office running smoothly and efficiently while making our patients feel loved and cared for. With a few additions, I am fortunate to have the same staff for the entire 4 years. They are all thoughtful, timely, and conscientious. They each take the time to talk with patients and handle their concerns. It is a privilege having them represent me.
We have delivered more than 650 babies born in the first 5 years. Many of them can be seen on our website. Obstetrics continues to be one of my true passions. I enjoy the thrill and anticipation of both the prenatal period and then the magic of childbirth. The joy of birth is an experience you only get rarely in life but I get to enjoy it 3-4 times weekly. My office has been attracting new pregnant patients from all areas of Orange County. I believe my ability to listen to patient's wishes and offer an assortment of options, including encouraging vaginal birth after cesarean deliveries (VBAC), has set me apart from other local Obstetricians. I have had a great experience working at Saddleback Memorial Medical Center and Mission Hospital and I know that you will all have a great experience and wonderful outcome.
My office practice gives me the greatest sense of satisfaction and intellectual pleasure. Every patient has a different story, lifestyle, issues and problems. This is why I speak with each patient in my office before I perform a physical exam. I do this in order to allow the patient the freedom without intimidation to discuss every detail of their lives whether medial or emotional. I follow all the latest guidelines in Obstetrics and Gynecology and explain every detail of the problem and treatment options and plans before I prescribe or perform a therapy.
I am still very active surgically. I offer all the latest surgical procedures from endometrial ablation to laparoscopic hysterectomy. Some procedures are performed in my office, at an outpatient surgical center or in the hospital setting. With new technology and surgical instrument advancement most patients go home the same day of surgery, even after a hysterectomy.
My wonderful family has enjoyed the transformation from being east coasters to west coasters. They are all succeeding in school, sports and life. Brian (16) is a Junior in High School involved in the, pre-med program, volunteering, tutoring and on the tennis team. Scott (13) is in 7th grade at the Middle School and is active in both tennis and mixed martial arts. Lexi (10) is a 5th grader and excelling and bouncing between athletics (a pitcher in softball) and acting in several local theatre centers in Orange County. Mara, between a full time mother of 3, a full time medical office manager and wife, she still finds time for competitive tennis, a sounding board for her friends and busy social life. She is truly incredible. As for myself, I am truly grateful to my family for their constant love and support, my office for their unconditional devotion and to my patients for their loyalty. I am head over heels with our practice and success.
Thank you to all of my current and long term patients for helping me grow Laguna Beach OBGYN into the premier OBGYN practice in Laguna Beach.
